Out of Hibernation
It's not only bears that hibernate – so does the Hoary Comma (I know, what a name), a butterfly that likes tree-lined streams. Overwintered adults emerge in spring. The males perch on plants to seek females, who eventually lay eggs. The new generation appears in July. They fly until September, then hibernate...and the life cycle repeats.
